MARRIED!

Go enjoy Santa Barbara! Hang loose! Find Harry and Meghan! Surf's up brah!!

ENJOY PARADISE!

If you're staying through the weekend or just generally like eating donuts on the beach, join us for a Spudnuts breakfast at Ledbetter Beach on Friday morning from 10AM-12PM. Exact location TBD.

BREAKFAST

For those of us still going strong (no pressure but Joe Bushemi we're looking at you), we'll meet at Elsie's (117 W De La Guerra Street) for a little after party. Elsie's is a cash-only dive bar with a pool table and patio.

AFTER PARTY!

After we've confidently secured our tax advantages and cemented our eternal companionship, we'll do a quick toast or two in the garden and then walk over to Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company at 137 Anacapa Street (just two blocks away) to eat, drink, and celebrate. 5-9PM.

Getting Here

Santa Barbara is 1.5 - 2 hours drive north of Los Angeles. If you are flying in from elsewhere, we recommend flying into either Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), or Santa Barbara (SBA). Our local airport has some direct flights from Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and others, but tickets tend to be more expensive than the larger airports.

If you fly into LAX, you can either rent a car to drive up the coast (the Malibu stretch of the pacific coast highway is stunning!) or book a ticket on the Santa Barbara airbus. Tickets are typically around $60 for a one-way shuttle. If you do take the airbus, we recommend selecting the "La Cumbre Plaza" drop-off option if you are staying in Santa Barbara. There are also Carpinteria (the small coastal town just south of SB) and Goleta (town just north of SB) drop-off options, depending on where you're staying.

The airbus website advises that carry-on surfboards are limited to 7 feet, so....keep that in mind.

WHERE TO STAY

Santa Barbara

GOLETA

There are tons of options available on airbnb.com and vrbo.com, but here are a few recommended hotels both in Santa Barbara and Goleta (15 min drive from Santa Barbara). Let us know if you have questions - there are many more options!

WHILE YOU'RE HERE...

We hope you'll enjoy the weekend on the coast! We'll be spending a good portion of Friday the 24th in the Funk Zone, a neighborhood just between "downtown" and the ocean, but there are many other places to explore!! Here are a few of our favorite suggestions.

Beach! There are a million spots to plop onto the beach in SB, so you can't go wrong, but Hendry's Beach and Mesa Lane Beach (adjacent to one another) are more "local" spots that we love. The Pacific is fairly cold year round but on a hot weekend the water will be super refreshing :)

Hikes! Santa Barbara backs up to Los Padres National Forest and there are approximately 6 billion trails to hike, run, or saunter down. Our favorites are the Jesusita Trail (which begins near the water treatment plant up San Roque Road) or Rattlesnake Canyon. If you want a leisurely walk along the bluffs, we recommend Douglas Preserve or More Mesa parks.

Museums! The Santa Barbara Art Museum and the Natural History Museum are both beautiful buildings with great collections. There's also a GREAT children's museum called Moxi: the Museum of Exploration and Innovation that parents and little ones tend to love!

Wine! Santa Barbara is sometimes called the "American Riviera" and some of the world's best wines come from this region. Go wine tasting and tour wineries in the valley or find some great tasting rooms throughout the city. There's a wine bar called "Deep Sea" out on the Harbor pier with a stunning view of the coastline - highly recommend.

The freaking food!! Our favorites: Los Agaves Mexican Restaurant, Via Maestra (Italian), the Boat House (on Hendry's beach), Brophy Brothers (on the wharf), La Playa Azul, and Harry's.
